Dare you to Move - Live - Switchfoot

Dare you to Move - David Cook

Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I Dare you to move
I Dare you to move
I Dare you to
Lift yourself up by the floor

I Dare you to move
I Dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Meaningful.

Miss Invisible - Marie Digby. Touching song, lyrics that encase great wit. Nice.

Say it Again. Too much editing to get the 'perfect' face? Just my opinion.

Anti-Depressants

When you simply can't go any further.

Music may just be the solution.

The remedy for the ever-lasting work.

This Time Last Year.

I was summing everything up.
Getting everything ready.
The Man-Made Snake.
The Mic Stands situated behind the amps.
The Foldable Mic Stands for the Drums.
The Cordless for the Solo Vocalists
Discussing with John and making sure everything was perfect.
Communication between the Left Wing, the Right Wing and the Control Room had to be flawless.
I gathered up the Stage Crew for a last minute sum-up.
I went out to check out the turn-out for today.
Video Crew were getting ready to capture everything on tape.
Stage Design were fastening the everything, praying that nothing falls.
7.30 came fast enough
The cue to cut lights were given.
Only 3 lights were switched on.
I flipped a single row.
Then the other 2.
Roars and screams of excitement simply reverberated throughout the hall.
The Curtains opened.
07.07.07
7.30pm
Everything started.

Reminiscence.

Becoming increasingly frustrated with the amount of RAM that Firefox clogs up. So much so that I am currently using Safari to post this up.

So far what has tempted me to use Firefox would be the extensive extensions that it is able to cater. But with Firefox 3 up and running, many of my favourite extensions such as 'Tab Mix Plus' were not compatible with the new and 'improved' version of firefox. Guess I am sticking to the slick and speedy Safari for the time-being.

Besides all that, The Wimbledon Men's Singles Final is currently going on. In this point of time, they have stopped momentarily due to the downpour.

Caught snippets of the first few sets and I am seriously amazed and appalled by the standards of the Top 2 that are competing against one another.

You would catch Federer bleaching out a amazing shot, and another moment you would see Nadal using his pace to the its full extent by returning an angled ball.

Amazing stuff! If not for the heavy downpour, I would still be on the couch.

Besides that, I have realised that I have taken a liking to a few argumentative articles written in papers these days. These articles are not really argumentative, but you can roughly see the point that they are trying to get across.

Take instance, today's Sunday Times. The front page article for the Lifestyle section was about Singaporeans being simply too sloppy when they go out. For example, at Orchard, you would be able to catch many clad in the Shirt-Bermudas-FlipFlops Combo.

I particularly loved the essay/article on page 3, whereby the journalist had written about how he had disliked and not approved of the sloppiness of Singaporeans.

In particular, I loved the wit and the language sophistication of the author. Not just in one such article, but also in books. The wit and cheekiness exhibited left me in awe.

Better get a rest! Going for an Audio Crew Meeting tomorrow!

Homecoming

Woke up at 8am. Went to school for Homecoming.

It was fun, the atmosphere was pretty good.

However, slightly incomparable to the previous years where it was held in the plaza.

The Canteen was packed.

The Plaza was empty.

The Usual Tents were missing.

The chaos, the sight of dirty floors, the usual shouts in the plaza were gone. Only to be replaced in the canteen.

It was not that the canteen was not good enough, but it felt rather 'un-carnivalish'.

Reached home at 4, went out for dinner.

Tired.

Having an early night.

Posting again tomorrow, about homecoming in detail.

Hopefully so.

Results.

After a Single week of being a Couch Potato at home, I decided to return back to school on Thursday and Friday to settle some issues regarding CHMA.

Back to school in Week 2, there was the script-checking to 'look forward to'.

I remember waking up at 4am to catch the Euros live on Starhub. Watched Spain play some attractive football, Senna missing the goal after sliding in and the victorious Spanish Team hoisting the trophy in delight. At least it was a bright start. Slept at 5 and woke up at 7 for school.

After 3 gruelling days of Pure Script Checking, I have learned/concluded the following points :

1. Yes. Our Batch is somewhat like France. I recall Mr Krishnan mentioning during the SS script check, that our batch is the brightest batch that the school has ever had - we had the achieved the best results last year - in the whole of Cat High history.

However, this year, our grades have deproved - considerably. Yeah, yeah, everyone is saying, 'I am slacking now, I am not even studying, I am sure that once I start, the 6points are in the bag. But actually, the truth is : It's not that simple. Not only do you have to break down that wall that is obstructing you to your A1, but you would also have to maintain that '1' you have.

3 months is not alot of time.

2. A Negative thought. I fully understand the pains that the CL Dept have gone through to help us in our chinese. Seriously, I do. Coming down on Saturdays and staying back late in the night to mark our scripts. But the thing is, they have probably done it once too many. In fact, from what I know, many avid lovers of the language have already expressed some discontent for the language. Of course, that does not deter us from striving for the Distinction, but well, you get what I mean.

Moreover, a particular action had somewhat pissed me off rather badly. That was when they had released us late for recess during the script check. Sure, we were noisy - that I would have to confess to. But that was no reason to hold us back. We had 3 hours of intensive script checking for which all of the 3 hours, we had our eyes peeled, looking at the papers. The "Saviour" arrived when he vomited due to Gastric Problems. The Dept were scared out of their wits - they immediately released us off.

Come On! Time to view the problem from another perspective!

Overall, the results for the Prelims were rather ok. Some were dissappointing (think Biology), some were rather surpirsing (think SS) and some were well, full of excitement that left me in euphoria (think History). Need to work harder on the Languages and Biology!!

It's Homecoming tomorrow! CHMA tickets are on sale outside the General Office.

To all the 4-8 guys who have bought/purchased the tickets : "I love you guys! Thanks for the support!"
