Logic Pro

Right after school that day, me, john, mc, lin de, shanwei, Joshua and mr wang met up that day to go to the apple seminar. So on the way to city hall, we were all talking and talking. So reaching city hall, we had went to burger king for lunch, really damn full…

Reaching SMU for the logic seminar, we saw mr cheong there. I heard about him working in apple already, but seeing him there was a surprise. So entering the conference hall, the conference hall did not feel like a concert hall, it felt like someone giving us a talk in a relaxed manner. With the good seats, high facilities, good sound system, I began to think, isn’t apple making a loss by not asking us to pay for the seminar?

So at the start, the speaker began his talk. Firstly, he started to talk on the music industry, how the music industry has changed… Before moving on to giving us a demo of the features of Logic 7. he had showed us how many loops there are in the jam packs and logic. And all together, they take up 30G of your hard disk space. Showing us the loops, plug-ins really marveled us with what you could do with loops. What blew us away was when had asked a recording artiste which he records for to perform. I think her name was shirlyn tan? Her voice was plain good, lots of power in it, totally woke us up and blew us away. The song that she had sung was called ‘revolution’ really good song, hoping to get it somehow.

So we went for dinner afterwards. Mr wang treated us to Kenny Rodgers at suntec. Really good dinner. Very full =) thanks mr wang! Then after that went home with mc and shanwei as we stayed in bishan. On the way talked a lot and at the same time had a lot of fun. Hope we could have done this more often ! don’t have a good camera phone, if not I would have posted pics.

Why is it not fair?

Really, ever since the start, when they had announced the fact that clubs are now only available to the new sec 1s as a second CCA, I was already going f*** ? just come on! Why are clubs like the iMedia, IT club relegated to a 2^nd cca? We do what we do as a cca, just like the Chinese orchestra, the symphony band. They have their cca, we have ours, why are we degraded to a 2^nd cca? Without us, the school is able to function? Without us, the school can hold special events like national day smoothly? No right! If we are an important asset to the school why are we degraded to a 2^nd cca? People say that the reason why cca like the band, ncc and choir are a 1^st cca is the fact that they bring in glory for the school. iMedia don’t meh, we hold a well-managed public concert to impress people from elsewhere, that is not glory? Clubs like the IT and chess also bring glory to the school, why are they not a 1^st cca too?

Some people will say that clubs wont take up so much time, hence they can be a 2^nd cca. But I daresay that some unformed groups just meet up once per week and then do nothing after that. Whilst, we clubs do much more, isn’t it discrimination to bring the clubs to a lower standard then other cca?

Never mind that already. Another issue. Sports class people. Since last year I cannot stand some of their arrogance already. I am definitely not saying that all sports people got some attitude problem but some of them have a serious one.

Just take today as an example. You all know the sports lockers outside the auditorium. MC found 1 locker unlocked, so he decided to lock it. Then some secondary 1 sports class people came… “eh ! trying to steal from our locker isit?” I was going “help you lock your friend’s locker , you come and tell us off, not even a word of sorry. What kind of attitude?”

Some sportsmen in our school have a real good attitude, work is handed up promptly, good behaviour. Whilst some really got a great attitude prob, make trouble, arrogance. We are all students, why cant we see each other as people of the same standard?

Haha. 1-0. Finally arsenal got their first win of the season, really thought that they were never going to win someone after drawing and losing. Anyway, even without henry and van persie they were able to win, I think this win would pivot arsenal back on track for the title chase =) haha to Jit Hin =P

Now everyone is worried about final-year-examinations. I mean who is not. Science got the whole biology, chemistry and physics. Geography got at least a 100 pages to study. Chinese, 202 words. English is as good as not enough time. Oh well, I seriously hope that the teachers will understand our circumstance now and give us less homework.

Anyway, thursday, saturday got logic and final cut course. =) looking forward to it. Hope it would be interesting

Sexy products

Finally. A breather from all the school work. Unable to blog for the past few days due to the immense number of homework.

First was all the projects. Like IT project, my group had not completed any piece of crap. Until Monday when we asked mr wee for the flash. I remembered last year, I had hated flash as I had felt that it was difficult. But now after ‘experimenting’ with it, I felt that it was pretty simple after all =) Anyway, in short these few days were just hell! Enough of the schoolwork…

Apple have just released their new products. I realized something, which is that if apple launches products, they launch in groups. For example, this time when they launched iTunes 7, iPod nano and iPod video.

iTunes 7. iTunes 6 was very good already, no one could think of anything which would be better, but apple engineers are just unstoppable. iTunes 7 had a different look, with sleeker buttons on the side and more advanced features. What I had like most was the CD flipping utility. Add a artwork to your album, and you can see the picture stacked like albums nicely for easy reference and searching. The only thing to complain about is the new blue symbol. The blue symbol a little too fanciful. Apple being known for simplicity = beautiful should change it. And also software update was installed in the computer to update and apple application. Go http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/

iPod Nano & Video. Simply stunning. iPod video now with 80G of space. That is the same size as most of our hard disk. Just imagine how many files can you stuff inside! Nano has got a new look, a sexier look and has increased its capacity. Really should go check it out !

So fast, hols are over

Sorry guys, haven not blogged for quite a time now. To me the holidays were just a period for slacking, and during that period I was really plain slacking. So holidays seem to just pass by so quickly…

Tues – Thurs. We had our annual iMedia camp. After reformatting all our panther G4s to the tiger OS X, everything in the mac lab seems to move faster now =). The first thing that happened was the amazing race. Kinda slacked in it. Me yinzheng and shanwei were taking our own sweet time walking and talking cock while HP and jerold were running here and there finding the places and doing the tasks. So next was nightwalk, pretty spooky, considering it is our first time doing this kind of thing for the nightwalk. Me and ceph were camping near the chapel area. When a team went in, we rushed there and slamed the door shut. Then ceph played the ‘I am a Barbie girl…..”. next day were the courses, mr wang had intended to let us do a photoshop course and a video course. But we had only managed to do the photosop course due to the lack of time. At night was the water bomb, the main fight was at the auditorium area, everyone was over there whacking each other like stupid idiots… Next day we had the outdoor activities before going home.

So tomorrow is going back to school already. Sian. Projects, homework, final year exam. For me you know what is the most worrying subject? Starts with ‘P’. Physics just too chim for us. Especially with teachers like mr ong who speeds faster than a space shuttle during lessons. Oh well…

Having quite a bad sore throat now. Hope still able to go to school tomorrow. Even so tomorrow’s school sucks, if you know what I mean. =)
