Flag Day 1

Haha I must and definitely admit that the 1^st weekend after the common test ended has been a wonderful weekend. Full of laughter and fun…

Saturday. We were told that we had to do flag day fro the special Olympics on Saturday. Many people in the hall groaned as nobody was in the mood for that as the exams have ended and everybody was in a party mood. However, just doing CIP from 11-4 should get me some valuable CIP hours so I tagged along.

Reaching Somerset at 1050, I was amazed at the number of cat high guys there… Then, in a group, we went to collect our tins.

Reaching OG, we had collected our tins and were designated to go to the Shaw Cinema to collect donations. BUT, we felt that since it was an island wide donation, why not go somewhere else? So me, Joshua, Michael we decided to go Suntec City. We didn’t want to waste money sitting a train to City Hall so we walked there. Reaching Suntec, Joshua was probably the only one out of the 3 of us who really had the imitative and had asked many many people for donations, so reaching Suntec, his collection tin was the heaviest.

Then reaching there, we got shooed off by the security guard as he did not allow us to collect donations there. So we said “ok lor.” Then off we went to have macs.

After lunch, we proceeded to esplanade to get some donations, but then again the security guard refused us the permission to get donations. So we went to the exit of City Link to collect donations. It was here that we had received lots and lots of donations. One American had even gave us a whole full bag of coins to put in the tin. We had really thanked him after that!

1^st time collecting donations for flag day, turned out to be a wonderful experience… if there is another flag day anytime soon, I would probably want to go again =)
