Top 5 now

I personally do not really feel that Singapore Idol has such a great impact on me, but recently, I just could not stand how deaf in hearing Singapore has became and had the urge just to blog about this... Last night’s assessment of the idols, from best to you-cant-sing.

1. Hady

Come on, who can argue that he was the best performer that night. He has always been the most consistent of the top 12. Every week, if you see contestants just singing horribly, you can count on hady to boost your mood. Even though I don’t understand malay, but when hady sang his mother tongue song, I really thought it was good. When you make someone who does not understand the language which you are singing and they think that you are good, you have just amazed everyone. And making people like ken lim say that you have performed the best, you are really the best. That’s hady.

2. Paul Twohill

We all know that he is from catholic high. And that is the half the reason why I have been watching Singapore idol every week. I still remember last week when they announced that asian pop was to be sung, me, hp, mc and ceph were thinking about how the hell is paul going to pull this act? Firstly, he sang ‘I want you’. I was like, paul is going to own everyone this week. He has been practicing this song over and over again at CHMA 2005 last year, how can he not perform it well? When he sang 存在, I was going “ lets see what can paul do, and he totally amazed us with really good rendition of the song ( at least for someone looking least Chinese looking)

3. Jasmine

It can really be seen that she is constantly improving over the weeks and Singapore has made a correct choice by letting her stay. I feel that jasmine has the voice to sing but the problem is that she does not know how to use her ‘power’. I felt that she was able to carry the Chinese song pretty well, the only problem being her diction.

4. Jonathan

He is kind of deteriorating as the weeks pass by. He is able to only sing songs which are low. Example? Look at how he screwed up his Chinese song, totally off… his English song ( some song from electrico) was pretty good, suited his low voice. But jonathan has got to improve his high voice, if not he is able to sing low songs only, which is pretty boring.

5. Nurul

Technically speaking, there is nothing wrong with nurul;s singing. I just don’t like the fact that nurul just picks the easy and neat songs. Which has successfully bored me. Other than that there is nothing wrong. She should take the risk.

6. Joakim

Hey ! I seriously dunno how you got so far, seriously I did not have the impression that you were good and until now, I still don’t think so you should be in. Being off-key countless times has not got him. I guess those young and deaf girls are just voting him because of his looks.

Who went out : Nurul

Who should have went: Joakim

I am not going to say anything except show quotes from the judges

“ May I ask the crowd to be silent for a few seconds, see joakim, that sounds better than you”

“I think that the audience should let you have a exit” (something like that)

Tomorrow returning English, super worried… =(
